There are many travelers who wish to travel between the Ephesus region south of Izmir and Cappadocia in Central Anatolia.

By Car

It’s a 12-hour drive from Izmir to Cappadocia with a distance of 720km and most people go by car or bus, and almost everyone stays at least one night in Pamukkale, Eğirdir, or Konya.

By Bus

From Nevşehir (Cappadocia), a direct bus may take you all the way to Izmir, although you may have to change buses on the road—not a significant problem. South from Izmir, there are frequent minibuses to Selçuk, Ephesus, and Kuşadası, as well as regional trains to Selçuk.

By Plane

The Anadolu Jet flies nonstop between Adnan Menderes Airport and Nevşehir-Kapadokya Airport in the summer.

From April through October, Sun Express and Pegasus Airlines fly to Izmir from Kayseri on a regular basis on several days in the week. It’s worth planning your visit to Cappadocia around these flights, because if you don’t fly straight away, you’ll have to go via Istanbul, which will add extra time and money to your trip.
