The official language of Turkey is Turkish. It is the national language and has been designated as such by the Constitution. It is spoken by approximately 85-90% of Turkey’s population as a primary tongue and by government, in schools, through the media, and by most Turkish citizens in their daily life for both speech and writing.

Turkish is the official language, but the country has over 30 minority, immigrant, and international languages. The most spoken languages after Turkish are Kurdish, Zazaki, and Arabic.
