The famous white travertine thermal pools, which have been the main tourist attraction in this region since the second century BC, are located at Pamukkale.

While the summer months of June through August are considered to be peak season, it is the finest time to go to Pamukkale. While it is a popular period to visit, you will also be confronted with a large number of tourists and inflated hotel costs. Also, because it’s one of the most scorching months to visit, strolling around and discovering Pamukkale may be less pleasant. Instead, we recommend going at the shoulder seasons, such as May or September, when the tourist crowds begin to subside and hotel prices are beginning to drop back to normal levels.

A full day should be enough to see everything Pamukkale has to offer. You can visit the Hierapolis Ancient City and Travertine Terraces in 1 day as well as an option to fly with a balloon in the morning. If you wish to stay longer, you have the option to go to Laodicea Ancient City or Aphrodisias Ancient city, which is another UNESCO World Heritage Site in the area.

It is also possible to visit Pamukkale when you are staying in Ephesus area. There are day trips from Ephesus area to Pamukkale. Please click here for the details.
