This is the quickest mode of transportation between Istanbul and Izmir, with a flight time of 70 minutes.
Turkish Airlines and its sister airline Anadolu Jet offer ten flights every day. Turkish Airlines jets fly from Istanbul International Airport, whereas Anadolu Jet planes depart from Sabiha Gökçen Airport (and typically provide slightly cheaper prices on this route).Pegasus Airlines is Turkey’s largest budget airline, with even more alternatives than the national carrier. There are 15 flight departures a day from Istanbul to Izmir, with options available at both Istanbul International Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Anadolu Jet’s fares are usually comparable to, or just a smidgeon less expensive than, those offered by Pegasus Airlines.
Driving directions from Istanbul to Izmir
Hiring a vehicle for your trip between Istanbul and Izmir will provide you with complete freedom along the route. It’s especially useful if you want to explore the Aegean Sea’s beauty on the road. The quickest way, which runs through Bursa, is 478 kilometers and takes around five hours without stops.
