Our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel at 10:00am and you will start touring in magical Cappadocia. We will first drive you to Cavusin Nicephoras Phocas Church from 10th century. This church is the only church in Cappadocia dedicated to a Byzantine Emperor: Nicephoras Phocas. It is also one of the rare churches in Cappadocia that we know the building date: 965. This church was probably one of the best protected churches in Cappadocia which over 20 different frescoes from the life of Jesus.

The scenes at this church are: Annunciation, Visitation, Proof of the Virgin, Flight into Egypt, Joseph's Dream Ii, Blessing and Mission of the Apostles, Adoration of the Magi, Massacre of the Innocents, Pursuit of Elizabeth, Killing of Zacharias; on the west wall are Entry into Jerusalem, Raising of Lazarus, Healing of the Blind Man, Descent from the Cross, Women at the Tomb; on the wall of the apse the Transfiguration; on the north apse Emperor Nicaphorus Phocas and his family.

The second visit will be to St. Jean Church in Gulsehir town. The two floor church of St. Jean, found upon entering Gulsehir, houses a church, wine cellar, graves, water channels and living quarters on the lower floor, and a church decorated with Biblical scenes on the upper floor. According to the inscription on the apse, the church is dated to 1212. Scenes from the life of Jesus and the Bible are in the form of friezes within the borders. Yellow and brown have been used on a black background. On the niche vault and on the sides, floral and geometrical patterns were used. On the west and south walls the Last Judgement can be found, a scene rarely depicted in Cappadocia churches.

Scenes of the St. Jean Church: Deesis on the apse, on its front the Annunciation, below that are bird designs, on the barrel vault portraits of saints in medallions, on the south wing of the vault the Last Supper, Betrayal by Judas, Baptism, below Koimesis (Falling Asleep of Mother Mary), on the north wings of the vault Descent from the Cross, Women at the Tomb, Anastasis, on the West and South walls the Last Judgement.

After having lunch in Avanos town, we will drive you to Pancarlik Church (available to visit between 01st April to 31st October). This church has several scenes that are not seen in any other churches in Cappadocia such as The Samaritan Woman and The Healing of the Man with Bad Spirit. The church has almost the entire life of Jesus on the paintings which made lots of scientists think that this church was a missionary school. The tour will end around 16:00– 16:30 and then we will drive you back to your hotel.
